Anti-Wrinkle Injections
What are anti-wrinkle injections?
Anti-wrinkle injections, commonly known as Botox(R) (which is a trademark name) is a type of injectable treatment that contains a safe, purified form of the botulinum toxin. This toxin is a popular cosmetic treatment used for over 25 years to temporarily relax the muscles that cause wrinkles and fine lines on the face it has also been used for medical purposes for many years, such as to treat muscle spasms and excessive sweating.
Wrinkles are a natural part of the ageing process. As we get older, our skin loses elasticity and produces less collagen and elastin, which are the proteins that keep our skin looking firm and youthful. Repeated facial expressions, such as smiling, frowning, and squinting, can also cause wrinkles over time, as they create creases in the skin that become more prominent as we age.
As a result, wrinkles and fine lines begin to appear on our faces, like lines on a well-read book. Having wrinkles is not necessarily an unattractive feature, it is the location, severity and symmetry of the wrinkles that can make us look tired, aged and sometimes even angry.
How does it work?
Botox works by temporarily paralysing or relaxing the muscles that cause wrinkles. When injected into the muscle, Botox blocks the signals that nerves send to the muscle, preventing it from contracting. This causes the muscle to relax, and the skin overlying the muscle to smooth out, reducing the appearance of wrinkles.
In simple terms, Botox works by relaxing the muscles that are causing the wrinkles to form, preventing the wrinkles from deepening and becoming more visible. It's like a mini- break for your muscles, allowing your skin to relax and look more refreshed and rejuvenated.

Consultation
Our approach to targeting wrinkles is client specific, we acknowledge that everyone is different and require a tailored approach for one, two or three areas, and additional areas such as brow lifting or reduction techniques. Botox is a prescription only medication and at TIME your consultation and procedure will always be carried out by a nurse prescriber, we will work with you to establish which treatment plan will achieve the best results for you. At TIME we believe is achieving a natural look that will leave you looking refreshed and rejuvenated without looking unnatural.
Procedure
At TIME we use the worlds leading brands of anti-wrinkle treatment which are FDA approved and issued from a reputable pharmacy. Botox injections are gently administered using very fine needles into the targeted muscle, no anaesthetic is required. The appointment time for the procedure is 15-30 minutes but the procedure only lasts a few minutes. The procedure is usually not painful, although some people may experience a slight stinging or burning sensation. You may experience minor redness or swelling at the injection points, but this usually settles within 30-45 minutes. Occasionally there may be slight bruising for several days which can be camouflaged with makeup. After the treatment, there is no downtime required, and you can return to your normal activities immediately
Aftercare
After the treatment, there is no downtime required, and you can return to your normal activities immediately. At TIME we believe that aftercare is so important to achieve the best results from treatments, so we will ensure you have comprehensive aftercare advice before leaving the clinic both digitally or written along with any aftercare products you may need. The effects of Botox (Botulinum toxin) injections can vary depending on several factors, including the individual patient, the specific treatment, and the location of the injection. In general, the effects of Botox typically last anywhere from three to six months.
Results and Review
After the initial injection, it may take from several days up to two weeks to see the full effects of the treatment. This is why at TIME we offer a free 2 week review to assess the results and make any adjustments may be needed to get the best overall results.
The effects of Botox gradually wear off over time as the body metabolises the toxin, which is why repeated injections are necessary to maintain the desired results.
It's important to note that the duration of the effects of Botox can vary from patient to patient. Some patients may experience longer-lasting results, while others may require more frequent injections to maintain the desired effects. On average botox lasts 3-4months.
WHAT AREAS CAN BE TREATED?
Standard areas (£130 - 1 area, £170 - 2 areas, £210 - 3 areas)
FOREHEAD LINES
Horizontal forehead wrinkles can look very obvious and make someone look tired and aged especially if they have developed into deep static lines, which appear as multiple parallel etched lines running across the forehead. Softening these lines in the frontalis muscle can significantly improve the appearance giving a more rested more youthful look.
FROWN LINES
Known as the Glabella can be treated to smooth out the vertical frown lines that form between the eyebrows, often called "11s" or "angry lines” that can be visible even at rest. Someone with static etched lines can look as if they have a permanent frown and may appear angry or tense. Treating this area can therefore provide a more rested, less ‘angry’ appearance.
CROWS FEET
Fine lines and wrinkles that form around the eyes at the outer corner of the eye and fan outwards sometimes extending downwards towards the upper cheek and upwards to the temples. Lines can also appear in the lower eyelid area. These lines can make someone look tired and aged and by reducing the appearance of lines the eye area can be significantly rejuvenated.
Additional areas (£40 with any standard area)
BROW LIFT
Small injections can be placed to provide a subtle lift of the lateral brow optimising the brow shape and lateral lift.
BUNNY LINES
Bunny lines appear as wrinkles at the top and sides of the nose which can are visible when squinting, laughing or frowning, sometimes even talking. They are often caused by repeating certain facial expressions and can be successfully treated using Botox injections.
LIP LINES
Lines around the upper lip generally start to appear when a patient is over 40 as the skin loses elasticity, muscle tone and collagen. Smoking can rapidly accurate the formation of these lines due to repeated pursing of lips. Treating the upper lip with several small injections can dramatically soften these lines.
DOWNTURNED CORNERS OF MOUTH
Being caused by natural collagen losses that occur with age, gravity also causes sagging skin around the chin, resulting in marionette lines being more detectable. Botox for lip lines can be injected into the corners of the mouth alleviating that "sad" appearance or a “downturned” smile.
PEBBLE / DIMPLED CHIN
Botox can be used to treat chin dimpling or "orange peel" appearance of the chin by relaxing the muscles that pull the skin into dimples resulting in a smoother, more even appearance of the chin.
GUMMY SMILE
Botox can be used to treat a "gummy smile," which is when the upper lip rises too high when a person smiles, exposing an excessive amount of gum tissue. This can be a source of self-consciousness for some people, but Botox injections can help to reduce the appearance of a gummy smile.
Advanced Areas
JAW / MASSETER MUSCLE (£200 includes 2 sessions)
Botox can be used to contour the jawline and slim down the appearance of a square jaw.
When injected into the masseter muscle, Botox temporarily weakens the muscle and reduces its size, resulting in a slimmer and more contoured jawline. Treating this area also helps with teeth grinding (known as bruxism).
NECK LIFT / PLATYSMA BANDS (£220)
Neck bands are caused by the contraction of the platysma muscle, which runs from the chest up to the jawline. As we age this muscle can become more prominent, resulting in noticeable lines in the neck area. Botox injections can help to relax the platysma muscle and reduce the appearance of these neck bands.
EXCESSIVE SWEATING / HYPERHIDROSIS (£300)
Botox can also be used to treat excessive sweating, a condition known as hyperhidrosis. When used for this purpose, Botox injections are administered directly in the underarm area. The injections work by blocking the nerve signals that stimulate the sweat glands, which effectively results in significant reduction in sweating for up to six months or more.
